What is Pellevé and what can it do for you?

As a facial plastic surgeon, I enjoy doing surgery. I fell in love with the field when I realized you could do these big complicated procedures to help people feel better or look better, but look like nothing happened!

For instance, you can remove a skin cancer and make it look like nothing was ever there!

Similarly, you can do a surgical facelift where the result looks very natural!

Surgery is great! If you’re a surgeon, that is… Most people don’t actually WANT to have surgery. Over the last thirty years, we’ve developed a number of less-invasive strategies to help people look better, without the pain or downtime of surgery.

Pellevé is a non-invasive treatment for treating mild to moderate laxity in the tissues of your face. I feel it works best if used as a preventative strategy; if you start getting it done as a part of your routine skin maintenance (along with IPL and a good skin care regimen), you may be able to avoid having to have major things done later on!

Pellevé uses radiofrequency waves to heat the deeper layers of your skin. This causes immediate contraction of the tissues, so you look better immediately! More importantly, it stimulates collagen formation so that the effect lasts.

Here’s yours truly during and immediately following getting Pellevé done around my eyes.

We put a special gel on your skin to help transmit the radiofrequency waves- it’s also a little cool which feels nice as the skin heats up. It doesn’t hurt at all and other than a little redness that goes away in 15 minutes, there’s no recovery time. I’ve also had three treatments under my chin to help prevent sagging that I know is coming.

We recommend a minimum of three treatments, spaced about a month apart. This helps to really rev up your body’s collagen producing cells. After that you can have touch up treatments as you see fit.
