This is a young woman who had a large mole next to her nose. It had been getting larger and she wanted it removed. She under went mole removal surgery in the office with local anesthesia.
The goal with mole removal is to get rid of the lesion while disguising the scar as best as possible. I always counsel my patients that mole removal will always leave a scar of some kind, so they are trading the mole for a thin little line. Usually with time the scars become invisible.
Her post-operative picture was taken six weeks after her procedure. The mole removal scar is well hidden in a natural crease in her face.
