Back To Gallery - Facial Reconstructive Surgery, Skin Cancer
Description:
This patient in her late sixties had a basal cell cancer at the junction of her left cheek and eyelid. The lesion was removed in the operating room and a pathologist reviewed the specimen to be sure all of the cancer was removed. The resulting defect encompassed half of her lower eyelid and a large portion of her cheek. The cheek was repaired by moving skin over from the rest of the cheek. The eyelid was repaired with a skin graft. The postoperative photos were taken four years later. No revision surgeries were performed. The patient is not wearing makeup in the postoperative photo.
