This patient is a young old girl with protruding ears. She had began to become self-conscious about them after getting a sunburn on her right ear because it stuck out so much.
Ear pinning surgery or “otoplasty” is designed to set the protruding ears back closer to your head and create natural looking folds on the front side of the ear. This is done at a local surgery center under anesthesia.
Afterwards she loved her new ears! “Thank you, Dr. Schmidt, for putting lines on my ears.” While the right one still protrudes a little bit, it’s a significant improvement and a natural looking otoplasty result.
